CHAMBER SERIES 2023

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE BOSTON ATHENÆUM
Innovation. Interaction. Inspiration.
The Boston Festival Orchestra welcomes you to the return of our beloved Chamber Series! This season, we're continuing to push the boundaries of classical music performance and programming by presenting three special concerts in partnership with the Boston Athenæum. Together, we reflect on three of the Athenæum's special exhibits through the lens of chamber music, asking questions such as: Who is art for? In what ways can we use art to connect with our heritage? In what ways can we use art to reconcile with the past?
Concerts take place in the intimate setting of the Athenæum’s Henry Long Room, featuring compelling and relevant repertoire that blends the familiar with the unknown, and spanning many time periods, cultures and mediums. Audience members will have the opportunity to make deeper connections between the music and the exhibits by exploring the exhibits during the reception following the concert. Previous attendees of our Chamber Series concerts will recognize attributes that make these concerts unique, such as audience Q&A with the musicians, live explanations of musical techniques, and a deep dive into the programmatic material.
All concerts have free admission, but reservations are required.
All Chamber Series concerts will take place at the
Boston Athenæum (Henry Long Room)
